SwimLens was created to help swimmers and families better understand what they see in the water.
Swimming technique is often discussed using shared language and visual references, but those details can be difficult to see in real time. SwimLens provides clear, multi-angle video and written observations so swimmers, parents, and coaches can look at the same moments and speak the same language.
“The Gap”- Why SwimLens Exists
Coaches are experts at developing swimmers, but limited deck time and busy training environments often make it hard to review fine details on video with every athlete, or even just to film or video monitor swimmers during the practices.
SwimLens exists to support that process by offering a structured, visual reference that swimmers and families can review outside of practice, helping reinforce understanding without changing how teams train.
What SwimLens Is — and Is Not
SwimLens is not a coaching program.
SwimLens does not provide instruction, prescribe drills, or recommend changes to training. All coaching decisions remain with each swimmer’s coach.
SwimLens focuses on observation, terminology, and visual clarity — helping swimmers understand what they are already being taught.
Who Is Behind SwimLens
SwimLens was founded by Jaak Cushing-Savvi, a USA Swimming–certified coach with experience working with age-group and competitive swimmers.
He is an ex-international level and collegiate swimmer himself and a dad to an aspiring young swimmer.
The SwimLens approach is shaped by years on deck and in water, plus a focus on clear communication between swimmers, families, and coaches.
How SwimLens Works in the Swim Community
SwimLens clinics are hosted and sanctioned through swim clubs to ensure compliance with USA Swimming and LSC requirements. This structure allows swimmers from different clubs and regions to participate while remaining properly insured and supervised.
Who SwimLens Is For
SwimLens is designed for competitive swimmers of all ages, and is most commonly used by swimmers in the 10–16 age range. Swimmers from any club or LSC may attend SwimLens clinics, subject to availability.
At its core, SwimLens is about clarity — helping swimmers see their own swimming more clearly, and helping everyone involved speak the same language.
